KEEP THE EVERLASTING LINE ALIVE
I decided to write today about this wonderful new line called Everlasting Love that seems to be struggling. The more of the books that I read the more I want to stand on a mountain top and proclaim how great they are. The books are so well crafted and the stories have all been varied and real to me as a long time reader of all types of books. They're more than romance, they're family sagas and relationships bound under one cover. And because of the word count they're books a reader can finish in a couple of days. Finishing the book doesn't mean letting go of the characters. I find the one's I've read stick in my mind. They are books I will re-read. So I hope if we have readers or other writers still visiting this site that you will continue to support this line by buying the Everlastings and by telling friends about them. Christmas is coming and what better gift to give than a book which a recipient can open and enjoy time and again? If you've never tried the line, you are really missing some fantastic reads.

I so agree, Roz. They're wonderful books that deserve shelf space!
Roz, I've enjoyed the EL books I've read, and my mom, a voracious reader, has also enjoyed them very much. She's dismayed to hear that they're going to be discontinued.
I wish Harlequin would give new lines a little more chance to find their audience before they decide to just cancel them.
Roz--You can count me in. My mother loves sagas and these will be perfect stocking stuffers. I think I'll buy a couple for the local library, too. The more people who read them and become familiar with the line, the better. Here's hoping the line continues,

I have always thought the covers were gorgeous. :-)
I hope EL finds a permanent new home soon. These stories deserve the chance to reach new readers.
I really have liked the ELs I've read--the linked stories are a great way to tell the whole story. While I don't know for sure how long they've been on the market, I agree with Susan G--they need more time to gain an audience. The ones I've bought are all keepers to reread. How can the readers help the authors? I don't find the Harlequin site user friendly enough to get to the powers that be to say so. Has anyone got some ideas for that?
Roz,
I agree with everything you said. The Everlastings I read are just wonderful. No, they're beyond that. They're special and you can feel it as you read them. And the quality and depth of the writing is superb.
It' sad that soon they'll be gone from shelves.
Anne,
Would you give me permission to forward your letter to the senior editor of Everlasting Love? She's asked me and other authors to forward reader comments to her regarding the line. I'd like her to read those comments of yours as well as the difficulty you have about using the Harlequin website. Readers have a lot of influence - more than authors, I think.
Thanks. Please let me know here or through my email at: linda@linda-barrett.com
Roz, keeping the Everlasting Line alive is my dream. These stories are about the idea that when you love someone, you're in for the long haul. Now, I know that sounds a little like someone faced with an onerous chore.
But it's not!
These books are about how two people meet not only the changes in one another, but the changes in society over the years. And yet, their love endures.
Not only are the stories great, but the lessons about love and life are an inspiration to everyone.

I totally agree. The Harlequin Challenge bloggers are just discovering this line and loving it!!! You have all probably heard me sing the praises off this line but this is my absolute favorite line of every single Harlequin line. It is new, it's fresh, it's innovative. And above all it is meaningful! The stories move me emotionally, the narrative forms excite me because they are innovative than straight romances. They leave me with a feeling about love that is transforming. Who ever talks to the senior editor, point them to the Challenge blogs and how all sorts of people are loving this line....me (Paisley) although I am sure they have heard it from me a lot...but others include debiw781's blog, Sandi of the Team Ranting Readers, Christa of the Quiet Canadians, ChrissieSue, Shewolf....we are all readers who read very different lines sometimes but we all LOVE Everlasting Love!!! If all of us love this line, then think what some better marketing for the line would do! From what I hear now as people discover this line, there is a mad rush to buy up every copy. We love these stories. Thank you so much to all the authors for writing these very special romances.
